How much confidence of success can I have as a franchisee
of Bali Hai? Running a successful massage shop or spa depends
on a number of factors. A full time commitment is one
key factor. With effective time and energy invested
into your franchise the level of your success will increase
proportionately. Profitability also varies upon market
conditions, competition (although this we attempt to
eliminate as explained in operators manual), management
skills as well as general business risks. With the support
of the franchisor and business experience locally and
internationally of the franchisor, we attempt to minimize
these risks.
What is the investment required to obtain a Bali
Hai franchise?There are two options available to a franchisee,
either a Bali Hai Massage shop or a Bali Hai Spa &
Massage. The decision depends on the financial resources
of the franchisee, ability, time commitment and physical
layout of chosen site. It is recommended to start with
a Bali Hai Massage shop franchise and then expand into
a Bali Hai Spa & Massage shop.
In any case the franchisee has to pay the initial
once off franchise fee plus shop construction and fitting
out as specifically outlined in the operation manual.
It is estimated that the total initial investment for
a Bali Hai Massage shop franchise fully fitted out as
required, initial training, as well as all legal costs
plus all the necessary equipment oils, creams and lotions
including the extensive range of licensing and permits
and visas will be approximately one million one hundred
thousand baht (1.1million) (approx. US$26,000). This
equates to a shop of approx. size of 90 square meters.
The approximate total cost for a Bali Hai Spa &
Massage shop including initial once off franchise fee
would be approx. two million two hundred thousand (2.2
million) baht, and requires a shop of in-excess than
170 square meters. A Bali Hai Spa & Massage
is twice the size of a Bali Hai Massage shop with a
more extensive spa menu and Jacuzzi and soaker tub.
The Jacuzzi and tub are not included in costing.
In either case there is also a monthly royalty and
support fee paid of 10% of monthly gross revenue, excluding
bar revenue and retail product sales on the Bali Hai
range of massage and spa products, which the franchisee
has access to at a lower than wholesale price. The franchisee
has the option of selling the franchise at any time;
the franchisor has first option to buy. If sold to a
third party a transfer fee of 80,000baht is paid to
the franchisor.
The term of the franchise is for fifteen (15) years.
How does a foreigner buy and operate a business in
Thailand?| There are various ways this can be achieved. However
your legal advisors will assist you in this regard.
This is an important aspect for the operation of the
business if it’s owned by a non-Thai national franchisee.
What service and support will a new franchisee obtain
before opening his store? The franchisor will assist in site selection and
negotiation of the premises. The fitting out will be
based on designs as provided by the franchisor, including
equipment and furniture procurement on behalf of the
franchisee. It will be the franchisee’s financial responsibility
but the franchisor will facilitate all that is required
to open the franchisee’s new Bali Hai location.
Does the franchisee have to buy products from the
franchisor? Franchisee is required to buy certain products that
have helped to establish the brand name of Bali Hai
across Thailand. However, the franchisee is free to
buy some products, under the company’s product specification,
and will be directed as to where to obtain these other
products at the best price and level of quality necessary
to maintain Bali Hai’s standard of excellence.

massage or spa treatment, regardless of sex, nationality
